Dear 2025 grantees,
This page briefly explains how to claim your grant now that you have been shortlisted as Edge grantees.
We are processing grants via Open Collective, a platform run by The Social Change Nest that helps make grant management and hosting simpler for grantees and more transparent for our supporters and members.
To claim your grant, you must first create an Open Collective account or profile here using your group's email.
You will need to set up secure login details and store them to come back later on. Please use the email that you provided with your application form as main organisation email as we will continue communicating with you via that account. If you have already a group's profile on Open Collective linked to a different email account, email us with those details at [email protected].
After receiving the notification confirming your success in the Roots Funding Round, you will receive a second email inviting you to claim your grant. Invites will start going out during the week commencing on 15th December.
The invitation link will direct you to the Open Collective platform. To claim your grant, follow the next steps:
- Log in to your Open Collective account.
- Click on the invitation to make your claim that you received by email.
- Provide the requested details:
- Legal name: organisation name or the name of the person receiving the money on behalf of your group group’s bank account details.
- Select payout method: Local Bank Account and provide bank details (Sort Code and Account Number).
- Write Roots Grant in the section ‘Application Content’.
- The amount is set up to £1000.00.
- You don’t need to attach any receipt.
4. Click on Proceed to Summary to review that the information provided is correct, and then click on Submit Grant Request.
Once you submit your claim, we will receive a notification and will be able to approve the grant transfer. The Social Change Nest processes payments on Tuesdays and Friday. You should receive the payment within 48 hours since we approve the grant payment.
Please note that The Social Change Nest will be closed from 25 December to 1st January, resuming payments on Tuesday 6 January 2026. Claims submitted after 22 December may therefore be paid until the second week of January 2026.
